Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress who works in television, film and the theatre. She's best known as Teri Joe, a fiery lawyer on the Showtime program Soul Food. After her marriage she became Nikki Kodjoe. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an aptitude for acting in her when she was a child and won an award for the best Actress prize at a Maryland high-school competition. In addition to her work as a theater actress as well as with 'The Washington Ballet Company. The company awarded her the degree of Acting at New York University. Contractor was born from Mumbai in India, was raised in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She was already exposed to many different travels and cultures from a young age. At the age of seven to nine, the young lady was a student at boarding schools in London. Her family then relocated to Toronto where she lived throughout her early years. Contractor achieved academic success in Toronto while also training as ballerina. The Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public school for high schools that is specialized in the arts) the student studied ballet and theater. Contractor She had been dancing for over ten years at that time and decided to pursue acting. She was awarded a full scholarship to attend the University of Toronto after graduating. She earned a master's degree in theater as well as a double major in psychology and social science. Her performance was lauded for the 92 shows she appeared in. She won the 2002 award for the most outstanding production of the Year from Canadian critics. She was given the chance to enroll in the Stratford Conservatory. The school accepts only eight men and four woman to study traditional theatre. Contractor was eager to accept. Contractor's place in the following production was secured, and she was offered the part in the play as Hermia.
