Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress who works in television, film and the theatre. She's best known as Teri Joe, a fiery lawyer on the Showtime program Soul Food. After her marriage she became Nikki Kodjoe. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an aptitude for acting in her when she was a child and won an award for the best Actress prize at a Maryland high-school competition. In addition to her work as a theater actress as well as with 'The Washington Ballet Company. The company awarded her the degree of Acting at New York University. Her first major role in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love brought her immense admiration. The film was later followed by movies like "Boogie Nights Spark, Blue Streak". Contractor was born from Mumbai in India, was raised in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She was already exposed to many different travels and cultures from a young age. At the age of seven to nine, the young lady was a student at boarding schools in London. Her family then relocated to Toronto where she lived throughout her early years. Contractor achieved academic success in Toronto while also training as ballerina. The Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public school for high schools that is specialized in the arts) the student studied ballet and theater.
